Bibliografía sobre historia, tecnología y estética del sonido cinematográfico


Esta es la relación completa de los libros y artículos, en castellano e inglés, que utilicé en la elaboración de mi trabajo de investigación titulado "El sonido en el cine. Aproximación al análisis integrado de la banda sonora cinematográfica", con el que obtuve el Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA) del Doctorado.

La incluyo sin editar, tal y como aparece en el trabajo, a excepción de algunos añadidos de obras que he ido incorporando durante los últimos meses. Mi idea en un principio era quitar las entradas que se refieren a capítulos o secciones de libros también citados, pero he pensado que, para quien esté interesado en investigar sobre la materia, tener los títulos de capítulos concretos puede serle de utilidad, especialmente en los casos de obras firmadas por múltiples autores, en los que cada uno aborda problemáticas diferentes.

  1. ¿Podrías recomendar alguno en especial que no sea ni el de Uso práctico de sonido en el cine ni el de La Audiovisión? Si es en español mejor, sino no importa que sea en inglés.

  2. Muchas gracias. En castellano la verdad es que, exceptuando manuales técnicos, hay muy poca cosa específica sobre sonido fílmico. Y algunos de los que hay casi mejor que no los hubieran traducido, como el de David Yewdall, que está tan mal traducido que casi no se entiende.

    De lo último que he leído, 'El sentido del sonido' de Jerónimo Labrada no está mal. Tiene una primera parte más histórica y teórica, con ejemplos de películas, y luego ya entra en cuestiones de acústica, microfonía,etc. El problema en mi opinión es que, a pesar de estar publicado en 2009, dedica quizá demasiado espacio a una tecnología algo desfasada como el magnético. Pero en conjunto es una lectura bastante amena.

    Por lo demás, ya en inglés, creo que en esta materia hay dos libros esenciales, de casi obligada lectura. Uno es 'Film Sound', de Weis y Belton. El otro es 'Sound Theory, Sound Practice', de Rick Altman. Ambos son recopilaciones de artículos diversos, que abordan el sonido cinematográfico desde múltiples perspectivas; histórica, tecnológica, estética, autores, etc.

    Si buscas un perfil más concreto, dímelo e intentaré ayudarte en lo que pueda.

    Lo cierto es que como no llevo mucho tiempo en esto me interesa ahora mismo todo tipo de contenidos, tanto técnico como mas práctico. Menos mal que dices lo de la traducción del libro de Yewdall porque pensaba que era yo el que estaba mal. He terminado recientemente la Audiovisión y me ha parecido muy interesante. Los 2 libros que dices los conozco aunque no los he leido asique me haré con ellos.

    Curiosament estic realitzant un treball similar al teu en alguns aspectes. Acabe de trobar el teu blog després de fer la investigació de bibliografia i m'ha sorprés veure com coincideix bona part. Clar és que el meu treball està a altre nivell i no és tan extens però coincidisc amb tu en què la bibliografia en castellà i més sobre el so, és... testimonial.

    En qualsevol cas escric per si t'interessa un llibre que m'ha semblat que no el tenies a la bibliografia, potser no vaja d'acord amb la teua línia però té algunes (i dic algunes, no totes) coses interessants. Es diu Música para la imagen de José Nieto. El pots trobar a la biblioteca d'Humanitats.

    Bé, et felicite pel blog perquè realment és molt interessant i m'anima veure que algú s'interessa pel so en el cinema, perquè el meu punt de vista és que està completament oblidat i maltractat. Estic a l'espere del títol de Comunicació Audiovisual i he estudiat la FP de Tècnic de so i bé, tot i la meua joventut i conseqüent curta experiència laboral en el camp, crec que és una realitat que els sonidistes són "els útlims monos".

    Muchas gracias. Somos tan poquitos en esto que siempre es un placer conocer gente nueva interesada por el no siempre bien conocido (ni valorado) mundo del sonido audiovisual.

    Miraré el libro que mencionas porque, efectivamente, no lo tengo. Ahora, como verás por la actividad del blog, estoy en una época de receso, espero que pronto retome tanto el blog como la investigación bibliográfica.
